Check ‘em Tuesday!

22:58 Unknown 2 Comments

The Sun newspaper has launched a six month campaign called 'Check Em Tuesday' which will encourage more women and men to get to know their boobs! They aim to spread the word quicker and inform people how to spot the signs of breast cancer.

Over 50,000 women and 400 men get the devastating news that they have the disease each year which turns their life upside down and could put a lot of strain on friends and family. Early detection could increase changes of survival!
Statistics show that 1 in 8 women will experience breast cancer at some point in their life.

It takes less then 5 minutes to check your breasts and should be done every day so get checking and spread the word about breast cancer.

If you do find something different with your breasts or your just worried then be sure to speak to your GP for peace of mind.

Together we could save lives!

  1. Hey, I saw your article on FB, I thought I would comment on this too. I think it's hugely important to do this. Too many of us, men and women, could avoid unnecessary suffering if we could be more in tune with our body regardless of our busy life schedule! Cancer research UK does a lot at the moment to send out messages about early diagnosis.
Also may I mention a post of mine, it was written by a guest blogger/scientist, and the subject is 'Why do we lose our hair when we are undergoing chemotherapy?' It's not a fun subject of course but I think it's important to know and to address those delicate matters so it stops being tabou!!! http://www.sciencesosexy.com/2013/03/why-does-cancer-treatment-often-make.html
